Job Title: QA Software Engineer

 
POSITION SUMMARY

The QA engineer will design, create, document, implement and maintain test scripts. You should be self directed, team oriented, and actually know and care what the customer wants from our service. This position requires healthy doses of initiative and flexibility in a very dynamic environment. You should like to break things, be exhilarated when you discover that really complicated bug, and be detail-oriented enough that you've actually had people comment on it. You also have to be comfortable with initial manual testing of new features, so you have the understanding to correctly implement and lead test automation afterwards. You will be required to be the functionality, process and workflow leader for your areas of responsibility. You will need to manage and identify missing test cases, refine existing scripts for modularity and automation purposes, estimate and prioritize work for optimal risk mitigation and identify suitable regression suites.

JOB PURPOSE:

The Client Support Services Manager is responsible for:


  • Develop expertise in all features/product areas, and using that expertise to advocate on behalf of the customer in feature team meetings. This also involves a constant oversight of a unique requirement in on-demand web services model - assuring that changes to existing functionality are truly required and correctly deployed.
  • Development of all testing-related documentation, including test plans, test cases/scripts, and bug reports assessing quality and associated risk
  • Ensuring test planning, execution, and reporting is effective, efficient, standardized, coordinated, and integrated.
  • This position requires healthy doses of initiative and the ability to remain flexible and responsive in a very dynamic environment.
  • Daily management of objectives, priorities, tradeoffs, risk and performance management of all reporting staff.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


  • Bachelors Degree, with 2+ yrs QA and testing experience, including functional, integration, performance and structural testing
  • Must have demonstrated ability to act in a project lead capacity
  • Must have experience creating/using data sets that drive repeatable, automated testing
  • Background in business process analysis, system requirements, as well as data modeling and detailed functional design
  • Deep knowledge of business applications, with a focus on web based SFA systems, eCommerce systems, and revenue/billing/OM systems
  • Has demonstrated ability to work with teams to identify and analyze process improvement opportunities and define resulting technology solutions. Expert understanding of systems analysis, including root cause analysis, and other process modeling and systems design methodologies
  • Ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent spoken and written communication as well as receptive listening skills, with ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Excellent team player able to work with virtual and global cross functional teams
  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of Database interface and SQL
  • Solid knowledge of HTML, JavaScript
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and tasks
  • Ability to work with deadlines and in a fast paced environment


DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:


  • Excellent, creative problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Use Case modeling or similar modeling techniques
  • Knowledge of web applications, databases (preferably SQL Server), SQL, and .NET is a big plus
  • Experience taking a consultative approach with clients or internal customers
